Synopsis
In Baiyangdian, Hebei, a mischievous boy named Ga fishes, raids birds’ nests and plays with a wooden gun. War changes his life: his grandmother is killed protecting a resistance fighter, and Ga sets out to join the troops. Three performers, a paper puppet, newspapers and handmade props tell his story, combining Chinese folk dance, traditional opera and music with contemporary dance and mime.
